WYS Wool Revival DK

Each year thousands of kilos of British wool is processed;  every spin leaves an excess amount of material that would usually wind up as ‘waste’. We love our wool, and we don’t like waste! So, we are super excited to support WYS and their new revival yarn.

WYS start by collecting all this valuable and perfectly good fibre which is gathered after each clean down from their spinning frames. Next, they send it to their local production partner to card, comb and convert back into tops before it arrives back at their mill for spinning. This spun yarn then heads out again to be dyed locally, and once dyed, it’s back to West Yorkshire Spinners for finishing, balling and packing. “Sustainability is at the heart of everything we do, and all of this takes place within a 10-mile radius – something which we’re extremely proud of.”
