About Us

Emily Foulds came into being in 2001. Created by Laili Cleasby, living in the North West of England, in a small village surrounded by sheep. Laili has always knitted, both her Iranian and English grandmothers taught her to knit when she was small. As with many knitters, the dream of owning a yarn shop was a constant. Over 20 years ago this dream became a reality.

Emily Foulds, as a yarn boutique began its journey at the WoolFest yarn festival. Laili and her friends showcased hand dyed yarns and the exquisite Shilasdair yarns from the Isle of Syke. Since those early days EF has gone from strength to strength. Emily Foulds is available to customers at Yarn Shows, online and in our beautiful yarn boutique in Barrowford, Lancashire.

At Emily Foulds there is a keen passion to find the most beautiful yarns from here in the UK and around the world. At EF inspiration is key, inspiring your next project. There are lots of patterns and books and a wealth of knowledge to get you through your next project.

As well as yarns and patterns for knitting and crochet at EF they are proud stockists of lifestyle products such as hand crafted soaps, tote bags and hand woven scarves.
