The Design
The Royal Architect Sweater is worked top-down in two strands of einrum Lambswool yarn. First you work two narrow strips of rib for the saddle shoulders. The upper back is then worked downward from the edge of these saddle strips.
For the sleeves, stitches are picked up along the armholes, sleeve caps are formed working short rows, and the sleeves are worked in the round from the armholes to the cuffs with decreases along the way.
The turtleneck is worked back and forth from picked-up stitches along the neck opening. The Royal Architect sweater is a gender neutral knitting pattern.

Sizes: (XS, S, M)(L, XL, 2XL)(3XL, 4XL, 5XL)
Yarn usage: (300, 400, 400)(500, 500, 500)(600, 600, 700)g of einrum Lambswool held double
When working on the ROYAL Architect Sweater, using two different colours held together, be mindful of the yarn requirements and allocate half of the total yarn amount to each of the chosen colours.

The first sweater image shown is knitted in 1 strand each of colour 3030 ASKE (dark grey) and 3050 RUG (brown).
Saga is wearing size L.
Steffan's sweater is knitted in 1 strand each of colour 3582 HAV (blue) and 3558 MIDNAT (dark blue).
Steffan is wearing size 2XL
Both sweaters have an marled effect which is great for the sweater design
Tension
In stocking stitch using 4.5 mm [US 7] needles and with yarn held double
10 cm [4 in] = 19 sts
10 cm [4 in] = 28 rows/rnd
Needles
3.5 and 4.5 mm, 60-80 cm [US 4 and 7, 24-32 in] circular needles Set of 3.5 and 4.5 mm [US 4 and 7] double pointed needles (or long circulars for working magic loop)
What you need to complete this project
Stitch markers
Scrap yarn or stitch wire for putting stitches on hold
3-4 metres [4-5 yds] of fine, smooth scrap yarn for picking up stitches around the armholes
5 buttons, 18-20 mm [0.75 in] in diameter
