The Kit comes in two different colour ways The gorgeous Mongolian cashmere is hand dyed by Vicky, the mastermind behind Chroma Nima. The choice of two soft grey back ground colours for the chevron design, allows the delicates a bold shades to stand out.
Vicky herself says
“A neutral grey really shows up the colours that gently shift through the rainbow. Choose from either neons with a light grey, or richly saturated colours with a dark grey background. I love the simultaneous contrast of this design. As I work through the colours, I wonder whether THIS blue is the turning point to purple? Or is there a more blue blue to come?”
The scarf design uses just stocking stitch, increases and decreases, only one colour is knit with at a time.
Difficulty level: beginner / intermediate.
The suggested needle size is 4mm using circular needles. Circular needles are important as you'll be sliding the work back and forth in the striping sections.
The completed scarf measures: width 18cm / 7in, length 182cm / 71.5in, not including the pompoms.
Each kit contains:
120g / 450m 4 ply cashmere yarn
a project bag
25 hand dyed balls to make up the stripes, totalling 50g / 188m
a pdf of the pattern
